Job Title: Sewer Machine Operator ( Duncan, SC)
Job Classification: Non-Exempt/Hourly
Reports To: Sewing Lead
Position Overview: The Sewer/Sewer Operator is a semi- skilled position requiring understanding of Sewing. Commercial Sewing experience NOT required.
Monitor machine operation to detect problems such as defective stitching, breaks in thread, or machine malfunctions.
- Position items under needles, using marks on machines, clamps, templates, or cloth as guides.
- Place spools of thread, cord, or other materials on spindles, insert bobbins, and thread ends through machine guides and components.
- Match pieces in correct sequences prior to sewing them, and verify that lots and patterns match.
- Reading and interpreting patterns.
- Gluing and assembling of panels.
- Cutting, punching and buttoning.
- Guide fabric parts under machine needles and presser feet to sew parts together.
- Record quantities of materials processed.
- Mount attachments, such as needles, cutting blades, or pattern plates, and adjust machine guides according to specifications.
- Cut excess material or thread from finished products.
- Fold or stretch edges or lengths of items while sewing to facilitate forming specified sections.
- Perform equipment maintenance tasks such as replacing needles, or cleaning and oiling sewing machines.
- Examine and measure finished articles to ensure quality product.
- Cut materials according to specifications, using blades, scissors, or electric knives.
- Position and mark patterns on materials to prepare for sewing.
- Assembling pieces neatly into complete kits.
- Cleaning around work area as well as in warehouse when needed.
Requirements/Other Skills/Abilities
- 1+ years’ experience sewing as hobby or profession required, experience with complex sewing operations preferred.
- Experience sewing with upholstery (Auto, Industrial, and Marine) preferred but not required.
- Aptitude for commercial sewing required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft office.
- Effective organizational, reasoning, evaluation and follow-through skills required.
- Is considered to be flexible, have the ability to multi- task and embraces change.
- High School graduate or equivalent preferred, technical commercial/industrial sewing training highly preferred.

Position: Program Manager (Tuscaloosa, AL)
Duties and Responsibilities: (To include but not limited to the following)
- Ensure adherence to inspection policy for their area of responsibility.
- Maintain contact with the supplier to ensure that they understand and follow the inspection system.
- Watch e-mail system for inspection updates on project information.
- Interact with Customer Quality on a continual basis to receive deliverables, develop work instructions, get boundary samples, participate in kickoff meetings and communicate problems.
- Follow through with supplier on commercial issues.
- Supply work instructions to the supplier for approval, if required.
- Perform layered audits of inspection activities to ensure adherence to project goals.
- Interact with Operations Mgr on settling up inspection projects to ensure projects meet customer and QT1 requirements.
- Follow-up with QT1 operations team retrieving site data (daily), work instructions, kickoff meeting information, permanent corrective action data.
- Liaison between QT1 management/inspection management/Customer management on any problems or issues.
- Create and maintain accurate time reports using QT1 documentation, follow-up with customer for signature. Forward to administration for processing.
- May conduct recruiting services supporting containment projects and sorting activities.
- Ensure QT1 personnel are following guidelines regarding safety, protective wear, dress code, cell phone use etc.
- Conduct new employee orientation at their site.
- Schedule employee shifts including upsizing and downsizing when required.
- All aspects of launching new inspection projects including initial kick off meeting through to ensuring effective process for flow and throughput.
- Review inspection data and charts.
- Audit work instructions and observe inspectors to ensure procedures are correct and consistent.
- Ensure work instructions are current, available and visible to all inspectors.
- Review timesheets.
- Verify that required supplies are available in sufficient amounts and controlled.
- Meet with supplier and customer representatives to ensure satisfaction.
- Responsible for the health and safety of inspectors and lead hands.
- Communicate regularly with QT1 operations team and Vendor representative.
- Troubleshoot and problem solve with the supplier and customer for process flow issues, new defects, spikes/spills or calibration issues.
- Complete corrective actions report when required.
- Response to service requests.
- Ensure overall service quality and support inspection activities.
- Demonstrates commitment to reduce the risk of workplace accidents.
- Complies with relevant local Health and Safety legislation.
Qualifications
- Post secondary education an asset.
- Minimum 1 year experience and training in quality assurance.
- Knowledge of the automotive manufacturing industry and containment process.
- Ability to work in a fast paced, multi-tasked environment with constantly changing deadlines.
- Excellent problem solving, communication and presentation skills.
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
- Ability to travel with little to no notice.
Position: Quality Liaison (Louisville, KY)
Job Duties:
- Understand and follow Quality Policy.
- Problem solve and eliminate quality issues before they escalate into problems is key to be successful.
- Report all findings to customer and Quality Manager, including compliance violations or customer skills.
- Monitor and facilitate launch support and engineering changes as needed.
- Attendance at all Customer quality and warranty meetings.
- Attendance at all Customer engineering and vehicle launch meetings.
- Managing sorting and containment activities, if needed.
- Direct involvement with Customer quality and engineering teams in understanding quality concerns, data collection, measurement analysis and root cause identification.
- Direct involvement with Customer quality and engineering teams in establishing Containment Actions.
- Direct involvement with Client quality and engineering teams to understand and establish Permanent Corrective Actions.
- Communication with Client and Customer teams to present Client actions and countermeasures to address identified quality concerns. Interaction with Customer production teams and managers in the production environment.

Requirements:

- B.S. Degree in scientific discipline or equivalent.

Position: Field Supervisor
- Manage, mentor and coach the day to day activities of inspection/sorting/rework personnel.
- Act as liaisons between QT1 and customer representatives for procedure and process control.
- Provide feedback and information to the Operations & Quality Manager.
- Complete field paperwork related to field inspection/sorting and rework and submit back to accounting for billing and documentation control
- Compile data daily and provide to customer
- Ensure employees are performing work to customer standards and work instructions
- Prepare work instructions per customer specs

Position: Quality Inspector
Duties and Responsibilities: (To include but not limited to the following)
- Examine manufactured products, primarily automotive parts to ensure that parts meet all standards of presentation and quality
- Act as an impartial third party between the production source and the customer facility to ensure the product meets set criteria
- Study product specifications and work instructions
- Perform visual, mechanical and functional verification of parts to ensure compliance to set specification and quality standards
- Make independent judgments for subjective calls
- Collect and record accurate data regarding defects
- Tag and isolate defective material
- Provide description or justification for defective material
- Communicate results to managers, supervisors and production source
