Inspection
Quality Team 1 provides sorting and inspection services
for companies seeking to reduce rework cost and improve overall
product quality. A systematic inspection of an automotive product
will assure your company of the highest quality performance, which
is expected from your customer. Our staff is experienced in inspecting
all different types of material nonconformance which occur on almost
every part on an automobile or truck. Examples: laminations, water
stains, scratches, slivers, etc. from pump housing and pressure
plate products; defects that occur in seat cushions such as internal
voids, rips and tears; and problems or defects that arise from headrest
products such as: hanging thread, missing component, wrinkles, wavy
seams, dog ears and seam misalignment.
Parts are inspected with precision our customers have
learned to expect that from us. Inspection data (e.g. Pareto chart
of defects) is collected and compiled in electronic format and can
be e-mailed or faxed to the customer.
Quality Team 1 is always ready, whatever your quality
issue is.
Sorting

Select, separate and classify components that do not
meet customer requirements by: Methods and visual inspections (appearance,
cosmetic, sizes), Go-no-Go inspections, Electrical inspections,
Dimensional inspection (caliper, steel tape).
The sorting service Quality Team 1 provides is a timely,
cost effective solution to your immediate quality needs. Detailed
sort data is collected and sent on a daily basis.
Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI)
Applicability
The magnetic particle examination method is used to
detect cracks, laps, seams, inclusions, and other discontinuities
on or near the surface or ferromagnetic materials. Magnetic particle
examination may be applied to raw material, billets, finished and
semi finished materials, welds and in-service parts. However, magnetic
particle examination is not applicable to nonferromagnetic metals
and alloys such as austenitic stainless steels.
Magnetic particle examination consists of magnetizing
the area to be inspected, applying suitably prepared magnetic particles
while the area is magnetized, and subsequently interpreting and
evaluating any resulting particle accumulations. Maximum delectability
occurs when the discontinuity is positioned perpendicular to the
magnetic flux. In order to detect discontinuities in all directions,
at least two magnetic fields, perpendicular to one another in a
plane parallel to the surface being inspected, shall be used, except
when specifically exempted by the contracting agency.
MPI Inspection Service
We offer the latest technology to deliver the most
innovative solutions and achieve the highest quality standard that
is expected from your product. Our machine system is designed and
built for the expressed purpose of testing general Ferromagnetic
parts using the “wet continuous” magnetic particle inspection
process; capable of magnetizing and demagnetizing (to accepted industry
standards) this family of parts, so that the detection of discontinuities
in any orientation may be possible.
We have experienced and qualified staffs that are capable
to discern the different colors necessary in MPI and the ability
to see the small sizes of indications. As an ISO 9000 and QS 9000
certified company, we assure you of reliable and consistent inspection
results, through the development of our systematic procedure, such
as - performing an overall system performance check or system verification,
to actual inspection using the MPI UV light.
Rework
Rework of defective/damaged products to adjust them
and make them meet customer quality requirements. Businesses can
increase profits by salvaging what appear to be waste goods. Reworking
or sorting goods into sellable products can solve many excess inventory
issues.
Reworking a part or component is often the solution
to a containment problem. We have the experience to offer recommendations
and implement the best cost effective plan to save you money. Quality
Team 1 offers a wide variety of rework solutions that address a
range of problems that include manufacturing defects and shipping
or packaging errors.
Kitting
Kit items are inventory items created by packaging
units of other inventory items together for sale to and assembly
by the customer. Groups of inventory items packaged together as
kits (such as the automotive components). We will kit, strap bundle
and ship the finished product directly to your customer or a distribution
center. Whether you desire individual assemblies, transmission parts
or complete manufacturing installation kits, Quality Team 1 is prepared
to service your requirements.
Our proven track record with General Motors for kitting transmission
parts, can assure you of the quality, which is expected from your
product.
Light Manufacturing
Quality Team has in-house capability of light manufacturing
like small injection molding, drilling and riveting, and light assembly.
Parts Washing
We are able to remove rust, mill oils, and lubricating
oils. Normally parts which will end up being shot blasted will need
to be washed to prevent contamination of the blast media. We use
excellent chemicals and rust inhibitors to provide the desired shelf
life.
Sequencing
Quality Team 1 as a sequencer offers the integration
of our services (inspections, packaging, warehousing and distribution)
for the assembly or sub-assembly of products.
Plant Representation
We offer our representation with your customer
or prospects, offering service. Create a positive presence at your
customer’s plants with a Quality Team 1 Liaison resident or
quality assurance liaison. As your on-site quality consultant, he’ll
keep you up to date on the status of your parts by providing you
with: Current information on quality, production and materials handling
issues; Keeping track of inventory, and; Maintaining bilateral communication
between you and key plant personnel.
Our unique time-share plans can provide on-site representation for
your company depending on your needs. We can dedicate anywhere from
10 to 40 hours a week to your parts at one or all of your customer’s
plants on a cost-per-hour basis - including normal expenses.
A Quality Team 1 quality assurance liaison stays in contact with
plant personnel at all levels and takes immediate action on quality
and production issues as they arise.
