Application of 6 Sigma Methodologies
The Six Sigma methodology helps achieve improvement
in your business model by eliminating defects and understanding
customer needs, through - identifying the problem/issue, measuring,
analyzing root cause(s), improving and controlling. We have a Six
Sigma Black Belt in-house with many years of work experience with
the Automotive Industry.
Poke Yoke (Error Proofing)
Mistake-proofing is an integral part of an overall
Quality Improvement Process. When you eliminate mistakes everything
you make will be made right the first time; you will have no scrap;
no rework; and no disappointed customers.
Quality Team 1 will help you develop and implement
mistake-proofing techniques.
PPAP
Production Part Approval Process is a mandatory requirement
within automotive industry and it specifically deals with determining and ensuring
if all of the customers engineering criteria, design records and
specification requirements are properly understood by the supplier
and that the suppliers processes have the potential to produce products
which meet these requirements during an actual production run at
the quoted production rate.
Quality Team 1 will work with you in developing PPAP
based on your customer’s requirements.
APQP
The Advanced Product Quality Planning process involves
the following major elements:
· Understand customer needs
· Proactive feedback & corrective action
· Design within process capabilities
· Analyze & mitigate failure modes
· Verification & validation
· Design reviews
· Control special/critical characteristics
With our broad knowledge in Quality Tools, Quality
Team 1 will help you increase your ability to implement and achieve
effective quality planning requirements.
FMEA
Failure Mode and Effects Analysis is an easy to use
and yet powerful pro-active engineering quality method that helps
you to identify and counter weak points in the early conception
phase of the products and processes. The structured approach makes
it easy to use. The benefits obtained encompass by large the investments
in time and resources to execute the analysis. FMEAs can actually
help prevent failures, defects, and errors, because FMEAs identify
special causes of variation before they occur. FMEAs
are a valuable tool for any industry in which defect prevention
is important.
Quality Team 1 will work with you in developing and
effectively implementing FMEAs in your company.
Control Plan
The purpose of Control Plan methodology is to aid in
the manufacture of quality products according to customer requirements.
It does this by providing a structured approach for the design,
selection and implementation of value-added control methods for
the total system. Control Plans provide a written summary description
of the systems used in minimizing process and product variation.
Quality Team 1 has established a multi-discipline team
to assist your company in developing a Control Plan by utilizing
all the available information.
Appearance Manual
If the product has appearance requirements on the design
record, a separate Appearance Approval Report or Appearance Guide
is required for each part.
Quality Team 1 will help you develop an effective Appearance
Guide based on your customer’s requirements.
Gage R & R
Identifying and reducing measurement variation is the
whole reason for doing gage repeatability and reproducibility (R
and R) studies. An effective measurement system analysis (MSA) can
provide valuable information on your company’s gage performance,
employee performance, and part interaction to the gage. In order
to determine whether your gage technicians are operating effectively
and efficiently it is essential that a gage R & R study - attribute
or discrete is conducted.
Quality Team 1 has qualified staffs to conduct Gage
R & R on your process.
8D
A discipline team problem solving approach with the
objective of resolving a problem or improving an existing process
at any level of the organization. 8 Disciplines in problem solving
are as follows:
· D1 - Establish the team
· D2 - Describe the problem
· D3 - Develop the interim containment action and verification
· D4 - Define and verify root cause and escape point
· D5 - Choose and verify permanent corrective actions for root cause and escape point
· D6 - Implement and validate permanent corrective actions
· D7 - Prevent recurrence
· D8 – Recognize team and individual contributions.
Whatever your quality issue is, Quality Team
1 will generate an 8D Report to take an immediate action to your
problem(s).
